Bucket List Diary: Mondays Fun-Days

Mondays %The SASA Report

“The only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking. Don’t settle. As with all matters of the heart, you’ll know when you find it.” –Steve Jobs (in Remembering Steve Jobs’ Insights)

So I haven’t settled and I’m happy. With work, love, and life – I have never settled for anything less than what I want it to be and, despite having less stability than ever before, I have the type of emotionally-natured stability that will stand me in good stead for the future.

I’m currently living in a flat in Little Venice with The Georgian Model, The Ghanaian Model, and her brother and it’s nice. My work is freelance events jobs and I have rebuffed the idea of getting a 9-to-5 until I sort out what I actually want to do and that’s fine.

In terms of love, I haven’t found it yet but I’m not looking. I have had some fun and romantic experiences though:

1. I dressed up in 80’s gear – (bright green American Apparel tight mini dress and hot purple thigh-high leggings with purple eye shadow diagonals smeared across my eyebrows) and I went with Ibiza Entrepreneur, The Juice Maker, and crew to Nobu Berkeley, the newly re-launched Dover Street Arts Club DJ-d by Mark Ronson, then side-stepped the kitsch 80’s party I was due to attend – Boujis Club Haus – to spend a delectable fun-filled hour in the “red light” dive club in Chelsea “The Harrington”. I ended the evening swinging upside down from my ankles on red drapery through a mansion at 5am after-which partaking in casual bathing with the Juice Maker, The Party Nymph, and her boyfriend…

2. I found my dance soul mate The Flamenco Guitarist at Mark Hix’s private party and we had a 5 hour dance-off on a Monday surrounded by the likes of Stephen Jones, Lily Cole, Stephen Webster and a bunch of west-end party ravers, supermodels, and old literary types and poets.

3. I discovered my love for pickled garlic during a night out with Eccentric Art Chick and a random film producer at Black’s private members club. I then went to an underground Soho late night dive bar at which I played piano to a crowd of old crooners, Savile row tailors, and Irish drunks (another Monday..)

4. The night after I attended the Jade Jagger Jezebel loft party with Rocker Boy (“I got the moves like Jagger”…lol) where I bumped into my old dear friend Jimmy Choo PR, I went with entourage (The Lawyer, Rocker Boy, The Georgian Model, Barbie, Romanian Sex Bomb, The Mayfair Matador, and The Ghanaian Model’s brother) to the fun freak-filled circus that is Cirque du Soir. A last minute invite in hand, I took part of the crew to the LaChappelle party.

a. LaChapelle Party: Note – it was one of those AMAZING “Eyes Wide Shut” style parties you only hear about in movies and you are not quite sure if they really exist. Even with the directions, it was difficult enough to find – under Waterloo Station in an underground tunnel. We only managed to find it in an alley way where there was a ramp leading down under the street. The walls were splashed with massive larger-than-life graffiti. Inside black curtains were hiding secret doors and tunnels adorned in massive pieces of artwork like a 100-foot tall man on a huge wooden crucifix with a bull’s head and a huge ball of glazed rats. The crowd was a mix of supermodels in corsets and mini-dresses, Brazilian dancers, and fashion boys in white top hats and king’s robes.

Tonight I’m posing nude as a last minute request from Eccentric Art Chick for her life drawing class and then I’m planning my Hong Kong 1960’s style “In the Mood for Love” themed birthday party.

Ah…Life is but an adventure.
